ABOUT US
WHAT WE DO
Pattern Education operates an elementary school and hostel for underprivileged children in South East Asia.
Pattern Education reason for being is to live out the Lord’s counsel for His work as outlined in the Bible and the writings of Ellen G. White. We mean to directly obey the Lord’s counsel as recorded in books such as Ministry of Healing and Fundamentals of Christian Education. We read the directives from the Lord in the Bible and in the writings of Ellen White in a literal, specific fashion, unless the context makes clear a different intent. As we obey, we develop a template for others to follow.
Direct obedience occurs as we take Jesus at His word. For instance, we do the following things: Set the Bible in the center of the curriculum; include practical skills development and gardening as 50% of the instructional time; allocate 10% tithe of gross income to the Seventh-day Adventist Church and 10% offerings to causes and organizations unrelated to Pattern Education (e.g., 3ABN, other SDA Indian mission projects and programs, etc.)
A template is developed as we move forward with the Lord. As we read what Jesus has said through the writers of the Bible and in the important words of Ellen White, we see that real education and healing is much broader than any popular conception of health work and teaching. For example, education includes learning to read, write and do math problems, but those skills are embedded in a network of education that begins with the fear of the Lord and continues forever into the future, always spending its major force and effort to strengthen the bond between Jesus and His earth-born children, and prepare them for the next life while developing skills for this one. And the most important principles of healing are not actions taken to correct illnesses, but are ideas and practices that support abundant living.
